Meanwhile, Canon Musa Ambai is tutoring the Malay group in Telupid on Doctrine 2. It is a joy to see students from all language groups are eager to learn and have put in much hard work. This residential tutorial will take three weeks altogether and it will be till next February that some of these students get to meet up with each other in class again. All the best to everyone, and happy learning!

Lin Khee Vun (Chinese) will be helping the students with Apologetics. We will have the privilege to have Rev. Tan Chor Kee from Faith Christian Centre, Sunway to teach the practical module, ‘How to build a strong Christian family’, while the Rector of the All Saints Cathedral, Canon Yong Thiam Choy will share his experience with the students on ‘How to build a strong Sunday service.’
The Class Venues are:

Chinese – Faith Hall (Room 3)
Included in this three weeks residential will also be worship sessions led by Danny Wong, and a special briefing by Rev. Lin Khee Vun on the Practical Modules.
New Batch of Results Released!
A new round of results (Malay, Chinese) has been sent out from our office to the respective churches. Students are to get your results from your pastor/priest in-charge. The subjects involved are the ‘Introduction to the Bible’, ‘New Testament 1’, ‘Ephesians’, ‘Old Testament 3’, and ‘Prayer Book’. We thank God for all the markers. They are not only qualified and trained, but also responsible and efficient. We can expect results coming back promptly for the future.
Congratulations to those who passed, especially those who scored high marks. However, some have also failed. In view of the need to help our students to improve on their study skills and to understand the requirement of the examination, we have prepared special seminars in the coming residential tutorials on ‘how to study’.
Ambassadors Return from Mission Posting
It is the pleasure of the Training Committee to report that the first batch of Ambassadors under the Ambassadors Program has completed their third and final cycle of training and practical/mission posting. Lawrence Liau and Danilo have both returned from Rangsit, Thailand and Petaling Jaya, Selangor after nearly two months of practical ministry and mission involvement. Both of them have gone through two other 6-weeks in-house training and 10-weeks posting prior to this. The other Ambassadors – Phoebe Tung, Irene Panjang, Chew and Shyron are the second batch and they have also just completed their first mission/church posting. Phoebe and Irene had a fruitful time at Mauritius, joining the Diocesan Mission Team and the local the Anglican churches to minister and evangelize to the island country. They later joined Lawrence and Danilo in Faith Christian Centre for a period of time, helping with various ministries. Meanwhile, Chew and Shyron had the opportunity to work in the context of St. Patrick’s Church, Tawau, where they were also helping in the Diocesan English Youth Camp. Moore Theological College Tutors and Markers Workshop 2012

The Right Reverend Gary Nelson, the newly elected Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of North West Australia, conducted a Tutors and Markers Workshop at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah from 2nd to 3rd, May, 2012. Being the director for the External Studies for Moore Theological College (MTC), Sydney for a number of years, Bishop Nelson conducted the workshop with great expertise. He also brought with him experiences as he passionately guided the participants through the workshop.
With him was Mr. John Downward, the newly appointed in-charge person for the External Studies for MTC. Tutors and markers from across the Diocese of Sabah for all language groups took part in this workshop. This event marked not only the continuous partnership between the Sydney Diocese and the Diocese of Sabah, but also a milestone in consolidating the role the MTC External Studies modules in the area of training within the Diocese of Sabah. Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia (BM) tutors and markers who completed this workshop were also certified as recognised markers and tutors for the course – probably first of its kind in BM in such scale and settings.
