First Residential Semester 2019

The first ATI Residential Semester of 2019 commenced on January 21, with a total of 57 students participating in different subjects. We also welcome among us the new students: Jesoni Robin and Francie Francis who hailed from Holy Cross Mission, Kuala Sapi. And Roymol Simon from Church of the Cornerstone, Tarakan. Let us uphold all of ATI scholars in our prayer for their academic well-being and also their spiritual life!

ATI-E in Petaling Jaya & Sandakan, September 2018

Over the long weekend, Anglican Training Institute Extension (ATI-E) courses took place at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Sandakan and Faith Christian Centre, Petaling Jaya. In Sandakan, 20 students joined the course on “Basic Christianity” in BM by Archdeacon Lidis Singkung from 7-10 September. Across the sea in Petaling Jaya from 9-11 September, 23 students were taught by Dean Musa Ambai on “Introduction on the Bible” in BM, while 11 students were taught by Rev Lee Ban Wee on the same subject in Chinese.

Are you working and unable to attend classes during working hours but would like to equip yourself for ministry through studying theology? ATI-E courses might be the answer for you, as they are held in the evenings and weekends. With a minimum of 10 enrolments, ATI will organise and customise classes for a venue near you.

ATI Semester 3, 2018

Semester 3 of the Diocese’s Anglican Training Insitute (ATI) is currently ongoing at All Saints’ Cathedral, Kota Kinabalu. Among the subjects which ATI students are studying this semester are Reformation Church History, Advanced New Testament Studies and the Pauline Letters. These students are being prepared for ministry in the Diocese of Sabah. Could God be calling you to be equipped for ministry through studying at ATI too? New ATI-Extension (ATI-E) Program Launched in KK & Sandakan

The Anglican Training Institute (ATI) recently conducted its Extension programme (ATI-E) in All Saints’ Cathedral, Kota Kinabalu, and St. Michael’s and All Angels Church, Sandakan. From July 5th to 8th 2018, the modules Introduction of the Bible and Basic Christianity were conducted for a total of 52 students. These modules were taught by outstanding tutors—Introduction to the Bible by Dr Brian Birkett and Rev Canon Lin Khee Vun; Basic Christianity by Dr Kim Chang Kyu and Rev Dr Lee Tak Vui. ATI would like to give a big shout-out to the hosting churches for their support to make ATI-E possible.

Institut Pelatihan Anglikan (ATI) baru-baru ini telah menjalankan program Kembangan (ATI-E) di Katedral All Saints, Kota Kinabalu dan Gereja St Michael, Sandakan. Dari 5-8 Julai 2018, modul Pengenalan Kepada Alkitab dan Asas Agama Kristian telah dijalankan untuk sejumlah 52 orang pelajar. Modul-modul ini diajar oleh tutor yang cemerlang, iaitu Dr Brian Birkett dan Rev Canon Lin Khee Vun untuk Pengenalan Kepada Alkitab; dan Dr Kim Chang Kyu dan Rev Dr Lee Tak Vui untuk Asas Agama Kristian. ATI ingin mengucap ribuan terima kasih kepada gereja-gereja yang menjadi “tuan rumah” atas sokongan mereka untuk menjayakan program ATI-E ini.

Anglican Training Institute 8th Graduation Service

ATI would like to express our tremendous gratitude to the 624 people who attended our online graduation service.Special thanks to Archbishop Melter J. Tais, the Diocese of Sabah, ATI Board and ATI Faculty for their unceasing support, encouragement, and prayers.We praise God for our 40 graduates (Year 2020 – 23 graduates; Year 2021 – 17 graduates) Congratulations graduates!Many dream, some try, but only a few achieve. You are an achiever. Your certificate is not just a piece of paper. It is the set of wings that will help you to soar high! May the Lord bless you and expand your ministry.

ATI 7th Graduation Service 2019

The Anglican Training Institute (ATI) held its 7th Graduation Ceremony and Evening Prayer at All Saints’ Cathedral on 14 May 2019. There were a total of 31 graduates this year. 12 received their Certificate of Theology (C.Th), 11 their Diploma of Theology (Dip.Th) and 8 their Bachelor of Theology (B.Th). The graduation sermon was delivrred by the Rt Revd Peter Tasker, a bishop in the Diocese of Sydney in Australia, and moving testimonies were given by ATI students and graduates. It was truly a joyful evening for all the graduates, their family and friends, the ATI faculty, the leadership of the Diocese and all who came to celebrate with them. Glory to God in the highest for the wonderful work He is doing through ATI, preparing humble, faithful and well-equipped servants for Himself and for His work in our Diocese.

ATI 6th Graduation Service 2018

The Anglican Training Institute (ATI) celebrated its Sixth Graduation and Evening Service in All Saints’ Cathedral on 15 May 2018. Faculty and board members, students, families and friends have come together to celebrate the achievements of the graduates. Among the 34 graduates were 6 students who were awarded the Bachelor of Theology degree; 13 who received the Diploma of Theology; and 15 who received the Certificate of Theology. Special guest of honour, Archbishop of Southeast Asia, the Right Reverend Dato Ng Moon Hing, delivered the commencement sermon; followed by the conferring of earned awards. The degrees were conferred by Bishop Melter Jiki Tais.

 The occasion was also marked by the introduction of a new program, ATI Extension Program (ATI-E). ATI-E is a part-time modular theological program, offered in the evenings and weekends to accommodate students who cannot commit to residential studies. Pop-up classes will be delivered in various locations. With a minimum of 10 enrolment, ATI will organize and customize classes to a venue near you.
