The Ambassadors Programme
The Ambassadors Programme is a one-to-two years programme tailored to help graduates or diploma holders to experience and participate in ministry and mission in the church. Participants go through three cycles of training, with each consists of 6 weeks of in-house training and 10 weeks of mission posting. Those who have completed the first year of the programme are welcome to proceed to year-2 where they will be taking leadership position in the team.
The aim of this programme, which is governed by the Mission Committee, is to help young people to discern their calling and vocation in life. Although the emphasis of the Ambassadors Programme is to nurture potential missionaries, its scope goes beyond missionary recruitment. Participants are given an environment where they are guided to discern God’s calling in their lives. So they are exposed to sufficient ministry experience and training to be ascertained of their life vocation. In the end, with the help of the ATI and the Training Committee, Ambassadors are given guidance on choosing from a range of possible vocations within the diocese.
All of the graduates of the programme have so far found their serving position within the Kingdom. Out of eight graduates, two are currently serving as teachers in a Christian academy, one in the church-run music academy, one serving as missionary, two in fulltime church ministry and one has returned as the team leader. The remaining found the programme helpful and felt equipped to serve God in the marketplace, while remaining open to one day serving God fulltime.
